Seller Terms
Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Items
While we take reasonable steps to keep inventory organized and protected, The Great Exchange is not responsible for items that are lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed by events beyond our reasonable control. Sellers should maintain appropriate insurance for high-value items. Please contact us with any concerns. The Seller assumes the risks associated with consignment and agrees to release and indemnify The Great Exchange from claims related to lost, stolen, damaged, or missing inventory, except as otherwise required by law. No warranty or exception is valid unless provided in writing.
Commission Split and Fees
Commission will be divided as follows:
o The Great Exchange retains 25% of eligible sales revenue.
o The Seller receives 75% of eligible sales revenue. Any applicable processing fees or other charges will be handled as disclosed at booking and in these Terms & Conditions.
o The Great Exchange is responsible for its stated share of applicable fees.
o The Seller is responsible for any seller fees disclosed before booking or sale.
Supplies Fee
Any supply reimbursement fee will be disclosed at booking and may be deducted from the Seller’s payout. The fee helps maintain shared supplies such as hangers, tags, and tagging materials and applies regardless of how many provided supplies the Seller uses. Providing supplies collectively saves sellers time and supports a consistent, polished shopping experience.
Social Media Promotion
Sellers are encouraged to share a Reel or video of their curated closet and tag @thegreatexchange. Any promotional credit or incentive will be subject to the offer terms in effect during the rental week. Please send us a direct message after posting if an active promotion requires confirmation. Social sharing helps more shoppers discover your closet and The Great Exchange.
Renewal Policy
Consecutive reservations are subject to availability and approval by The Great Exchange. Renewal eligibility may also depend on sales activity and compliance with store standards.
o Sellers may reserve closets for consecutive weeks for a discounted price of $25. Sellers must pay full price and the discount will be given via Venmo at payout.
o If a consecutive week is approved, the Seller may leave the closet in place between rental periods but must refresh and restock it for the new week.
o Sellers renewing for another week should replace or refresh a meaningful portion of their inventory so shoppers continue to see new merchandise.
o Requirements for consecutive rentals do not apply to separate, nonconsecutive reservations unless otherwise stated.
o These policies help protect store quality, maintain fair closet availability, and deliver a fresh shopping experience each week.
The Great Exchange may limit the number of closets one Seller may rent during the same week.
o Contact us before booking three or more closets for the same week. Additional rentals require approval and are subject to availability, business needs, and planned inventory.
When a Seller requests multiple closets for consecutive weeks, renewal requirements may apply to each closet separately.
Seller Payouts
Seller payouts will be processed within seven business days after the final selling day using the payment method designated by The Great Exchange. Sellers are responsible for providing accurate payout information and reporting changes before the end of the rental week. The Great Exchange is not responsible for a payment sent to incorrect account information supplied by the Seller. Sellers should carefully verify all payout details before submission. Please contact us if you have questions about your payout.
Move-Out and Team Assistance
If you cannot attend the designated Friday move-out window, contact The Great Exchange in advance to ask whether paid move-out assistance is available. Paid move-out assistance is $25 and will be paid at the time of reservation.
o When assistance is arranged, remaining items will be removed and held for the period stated at booking or in the current store policy. Items not collected by the deadline may be donated or forfeited as permitted by this agreement.
If a Seller does not clear the closet and has not arranged assistance, The Great Exchange may deduct the applicable move-out and storage fees from the Seller’s payout.
o Unclaimed items will be held only for the stated pickup period. After that period, the Seller forfeits ownership to the extent permitted by law.
Cancellations, Rescheduling, and No-Shows
A reservation may be rescheduled without an additional fee when the request is received at least 48 hours before the scheduled Saturday setup. Closet rental payments are nonrefundable. Changes, cancellations, or no-shows within 48 hours of setup may be subject to the fee disclosed at booking. If setup is not completed by 10:00 AM on the scheduled Saturday and no prior arrangement has been approved, the reservation may be treated as a no-show and the closet may be reassigned.
Management Discretion
The Great Exchange may remove items from the sales floor when they do not
comply with store policies, safety requirements, or community standards. No
compensation will be provided for items removed for noncompliance.
Small-business rentals may be limited to protect closet availability and maintain the store’s primary focus on community consignment. Current limits will be disclosed at booking.
Counterfeit merchandise is prohibited. The Seller is responsible for ensuring that every branded item is authentic and lawfully owned. The Seller agrees to indemnify The Great Exchange against claims, losses, or legal expenses arising from counterfeit, inauthentic, or stolen merchandise supplied by the Seller. The Great Exchange does not authenticate merchandise and may remove, return, or otherwise handle a suspected item as permitted by law and store policy.
Seller Representation and Ownership
The Seller represents that they lawfully own, or are authorized to sell, every item placed in the closet and voluntarily consigns those items under this agreement.
Store Closures
The Great Exchange may close or adjust hours when reasonably necessary, including for severe weather, emergencies, staffing shortages, holidays, utility failures, or events beyond our control. Unless required by law, a closure does not create an obligation for additional Seller compensation.
Legal Agreements
Severability: If any provision is found invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force to the greatest extent permitted by law.
No Waiver: A delay or failure by The Great Exchange to enforce any provision does not waive that provision or any other right under this agreement.
Governing Law and Venue: This agreement is governed by Texas law. Any legal action must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Blanco County, Texas, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Attorneys’ Fees and Costs: If The Great Exchange must enforce this agreement, the Seller may be responsible for reasonable costs and attorneys’ fees to the extent permitted by law.
The Great Exchange may update these Terms & Conditions. The version in effect on the Seller’s booking date will apply unless a change is required by law or expressly accepted by the Seller.
Entire Agreement: These Terms & Conditions, together with the booking details and any incorporated policies, form the complete agreement between the parties regarding the rental and consignment relationship.
By booking a closet or consigning items with The Great Exchange, the Seller confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
