What is included with my closet rental?

Your rental includes a designated closet space and the supplies you need to create an organized, inviting display:

  • A clothing rod for apparel and other hanging items
  • A lower shelf for shoes, bags, decor, and accessories
  • An upper shelf for additional display space
  • Adult hangers
  • Children's hangers

Can I pick up tags and supplies ahead of time?

Yes. Once your reservation is confirmed, you may pick up available tags and supplies
from The Great Exchange beginning the Monday before your Saturday setup. To keep inventory organized and supplies available for every seller, materials cannot be provided before the week of your reservation. This schedule helps us keep supplies organized and ready for each new group of sellers.

What percentage of my sales will I receive?

You will receive 75% of eligible sales from your closet, less any applicable fees.
The Great Exchange retains a 25% commission.
This commission helps us staff and operate the storefront, market the shop, process transactions, and provide a polished consignment experience for sellers and shoppers.

For complete details about commissions, fees, and payouts, please review our Terms & Conditions.

How can I make my closet stand out?

A little planning goes a long way. These tips can help shoppers notice, browse, and buy
from your closet:

  • Use the provided size rings to organize clothing so shoppers can quickly find what fits. Place unused size rings together at one end of the rod.
  • Feature a few of your strongest brands or most eye-catching pieces at the ends of the clothing rod.
  • Double-check your payout information before submitting it.
  • Leave enough room for shoppers to browse comfortably. If the rod feels crowded, hold back a few items and restock later in the week.
  • Take photos and videos of your finished closet and share them on social media to bring more shoppers into the store.
  • Tag @thegreatexchange so we can see and share your content.
  • When we repost your closet, more local shoppers may discover what you have for sale.
  • Use your closet sign to highlight sought after brands, a fun message, or the story behind what you are selling.
  • If you own a small business, you may include your social media handle or website on the provided sign, subject to store guidelines.
  • Use the shelf space thoughtfully for shoes, purses, accessories, books, decor, and other approved items.
  • Price items fairly and leave room for an optional closet-wide discount later in the week.
  • Only bring clean, quality items in good condition. We reserve the right to remove items that are damaged, dirty, inappropriate, unsafe, or otherwise do not meet store standards.
  • Need an extra hanger or another supply? Please ask a team member.

What setup supplies are provided?

We provide the basic supplies you need to create a cohesive, shop-ready closet.

When you check in on Saturday morning, you will receive a basket of setup materials.
Supplies may include The Great Exchange tags, stickers, safety pins, clips, tagging tools, and other display materials. Providing these items helps create a consistent shopping experience throughout the store. Any applicable supply fee will be clearly disclosed at booking and in the Terms & Conditions.

What if I cannot make the Friday move-out time?

Sellers are responsible for collecting all unsold items during the designated Friday move-out window.
If you cannot attend, contact The Great Exchange as soon as possible to ask whether paid move-out assistance is available. Advance arrangements are required.
When assistance is arranged, remaining items will be removed and held for the time stated in our Terms & Conditions. Items not collected by the deadline may be donated or forfeited as permitted by the agreement. Please review our Terms & Conditions for current move-out assistance, storage, and late-pickup fees.

Can I restock my closet during the week?

Yes. You are encouraged to restock during business hours. Ask us for a 'Restocked' sign so shoppers know new items have arrived.
Please check in with a team member before adding and tagging new inventory.

Can I check my sales during the rental week?

Yes. Contact The Great Exchange during business hours for a sales update.

  • Send us a direct message through our official social media account.
  • Email us using the contact information listed on our website.
  • Call the store during business hours.
  • Ask a team member while you are in the shop.

We will share any available self-service sales tracking options as they become
available.

Can I reschedule or cancel my closet rental?

Closet rentals are nonrefundable. However, a reservation may be rescheduled at no charge when notice is provided at least 48 hours before your scheduled Saturday setup.
Requests received less than 48 hours before setup may be subject to a rescheduling fee. Please contact The Great Exchange during business hours if you need to change your reservation.

Review our Terms & Conditions for complete cancellation, rescheduling, and no- show policies.
